A gift to the community of Kent from the people who bring you the nationally recognized and Award Winning Kent Cornucopia Days. The Kent Lions present the 2013 Kent Winterfest Kids Mini Santa Parade, the official Kent Christmas Tree, and the Tree Lighting Ceremony at Town Square Plaza.

Event Profile
A Christmas Gift is a community event produced by the Kent Lions & Foundation for the community of Kent that provides entertainment and fun for the whole family. Featured events include a Kids’ Mini Santa Parade via Kent Station & the Plaza, a Santa House, children’s activities including Christmas story time put on by the Kent Library, a carousel, live entertainment, and free goodies from the Kent Lions & Foundation. The highlight of the event is the Christmas Tree lighting ceremony, synchronized with music, fireworks & lights encompassing the entire Town Square Plaza!

Note for 2013 - Due to the construction of the "Kent Platform", a retail / condo complex next to the Town Square Plaza, the "Carousel" will not be in place this year and the "Fireworks Show" has been canceled by the Kent Fire Marshall.

Event Management
The Kent Lions & Foundation is an all-volunteer organization that produce and manages this event. The Kent Lions also produce Kent Cornucopia Days and the Kent Farmers Market, and have a proven track record of successful events that bring the community together to celebrate. 
 
2013 Events
 
Holiday Reading
 
3:30pm at the Kent Library
 
Kids who attend this reading and craft making event will also receive VIP seating and treats at the Tree Lighting immediately following.

 
Santa Parade
 
4:30pm starts at the Kent Station and ends at Town Square Plaza
 
This of­ficial parade brings Santa to his Workshop at Kent Station where he will receive the key to the City of Kent from Mayor Suzette Cooke. Local school bands, Miss Cornucopia and floats will escort him to this reception and then bring him to the Town Square Plaza for the Of­ficial Kent Christmas Tree lighting ceremony.
 

Christmas Tree Lighting

5:30pm at the Town Square Plaza, across from Kent Library
 
Local Choirs & Bands will sing & play Christmas songs leading up to the lighting. Santa will arrive and a light show synchronized to music will begin with lights on every tree in the park, during which the of­ficial lighting of a real 40 foot Christmas tree will take place. Free hot apple cider, hot chocolate and popcorn and other goodies will be provided.
