Kent Cornucopia Days 5k Fun Run, Saturday, July 12, 9:00 a.m.

The Kent Parks Department is very exited about being able to build on what was previously done by the Children’s Therapy Center.  The Cornucopia Days 5k Fun Run will soon be the next big running event in Kent.  It’s focus will be on encouraging families to participate together to get outside to exercise.   The race will take place on Saturday, July 14 and start at the old King County Journal building located at 600 Washington Ave. S.  Day of race registration will begin at 7:30 a.m.  The race features a fast down and back along the Green River Trail.  Both serious runners and casual walkers will be able to enjoy this event by going for a best time or simply benefiting from a morning walk. 

Highlights include random prizes, awards for the top 5 in each age group and overall male and female winners have an opportunity to participate in the Cornucopia Days Parade on Sunday, July 15.  Registration is $10 or $20 with a short-sleeve technical t-shirt.  Registration forms will be available soon.  Check back often.  For more information contact, Kent Parks and Recreation at (253) 856-5050 or mhendrickson@ci.kent.wa.us
