Kent Cornucopia Days 5K Fun Run and Walk: The
Kent Parks Department is pleased to present the Kent Cornucopia Days 5K Fun
Run. It’s focus will be on encouraging families to participate together to
get outside and exercise. The race will take place on Saturday, July 11 at
Three Friends Fishing Hole, 20025 Russell Road. Day of race registration
will begin at 7:30 a.m. The race features a fast down and back along the
Green River Trail. Both serious runners and casual walkers will be able to
enjoy this event by going for a best time or simply benefiting from a

Kent Cornucopia Days 9th Annual “Dragon
Boat Races”:
Enjoy this beautiful
event on Kent’s own Lake Meridian. Nearly 50 Washington, Oregon, Canadian,
California, and local teams will race in eight giant 45-foot boots with a
crew of 24 people. Races begin at 8:30 am until 5:00 pm. The park will
have activities for the family including food booths, along with souvenir
and team booths. Shuttle from Kent Fire Station #75, Horizon Elementary
School, Kentwood HS, and the 132PndP
Park & Ride lot.

Kent Lions “Street Fair”,
“Taste of Cornucopia”, “Kent Farmers Market” & Kent Station “Fine Crafts
Market” Area: Continues, 10am to

Funtastic Shows Carnival:
Continues, 11am until closing.
Muckleshoot Casino “Main
Stage”:
Sit down and relax
while being entertained by our live performers. Produced by Kent Parks,
Recreation and Community Services and Kent Arts Commissio, the main stage
entertainment features local, national and international artist performing
on a new, larger stage throughout the weekend. Town Square Plaza on the
corner of 2nd and Smith, (see the attached stage schedule for event and
times). 4pm to 8pm
“Gazebo Stage”:
Another full stage of live entertainment provided by the “Kent Lions”
at the Gazebo enjoy Jazz music at its best. Located next to the “Ram
Restaurant” Beer Garden in Burlington Green Park on Railroad Ave, (see the
attached stage schedule for event and times). 3pm to
8pm
Jaguar Football Kent
Cornucopia Bowl IV: French Field at
Kent-Meridian High School, 10020 SE 256th
Street, Kent – the 2005/2006/2007
Northwest Football League Champion, King County Jaguars will host the
British Columbia Spartans, Saturday July 11, 2009
at 6pm in a classic battle of Northwest Minor League Football powers.
For the third year the Jaguars are proud to partner with Kent's Cornucopia
Days celebration, hosted by the Kent Lions.
Kent Youth Soccer
Associations 10th Annual “Cornucopia Cup” Tournament:
Watch over 150 youth teams from throughout the Puget Sound area compete at
this event. Most matches will be held at Pea Patch Soccer Fields, Green
River Road & S 265th St., with many more at local Kent facilities.

Inline Skate & Skateboard
Tournaments: Our 13th Annual at the
"Arbor 360 Park” new location. Inline Registration at 9 am and the
tournament at 10 am. Professional demonstration at 12 noon. Skateboard
registration at 12 noon and tournament at 1 pm. Live entertainment and
music by radio station Funky Monkey. At the Arbor 360 Park, 240th
& 120th. 9am until 6pm.
“Kent Valley Artists
Association Art Show” Continues in Rose Park:
Continues, 10am to
8pm.
Bingo:
“Lions Bingo” at the Titus Park on the corner of
1st & Titus. 10am until closing.
Beer Garden,
by the Ram Restaurant, located in Burlington Green Park, next to the food
court and stage. This event will benefit several non-profit groups. 12n to 8 pm.

Events:

Have your whole family tested for
hearing, vision, diabetes, glaucoma, blood pressure, and other health
screening free of charge at the Lions Health Fair located on the
corner of 2PndP
and Meeker. 10am-8pm.

Kent Cornucopia Blood Drive:
The Puget Sound Blood Center will hold a
blood drive during Kent Cornucopia Days at Columbia Bank, corner of 4th
& Meeker. For further information visit

Kids and adults will enjoy our
Military Displays with equipment & vehicles from the Army National Guard
and other military units. On Gowe St between Railroad and 1st Ave. 10am
to 8pm.

Visit the Kent Police & Fire Dept
Safety Fair, located on Railroad Ave between Gowe and Meeker, for tips
to keep your family safe, kids can climb aboard a fire truck or police car.
10am to 8pm.

Children’s Area:
A fun and interactive destination designed especially for kids and offering
an array of activities to keep the youngest festival-goers entertained and
educated. Hands-on arts and crafts projects and workshops give kids the
opportunity to work with and learn from professional artists. Located at
Kent Station. 10am to 5pm

Summer Art Exhibit:
The Kent
Arts Commission’s juried fine art exhibit
is
displayed in the Centennial Center Gallery,
400 West Gowe Street.
Open each day during Kent Cornucopia Days. Regional artists
exhibit paintings, prints, photographs and wood carvings during this annual
show. Visitors are invited to cast votes for the People’s Choice
Award. 10 am – 5 pm.

Chalk
Art in the Streets: Artist Louis Chinn will
be working with youth volunteers to bring attention the Arts at Kent
Cornucopia Days through chalk art designs. Visitors are invited to join in
the fun! Various locations and hours.

Northwest
Renaissance Poets: Celebrate the literary
arts at Kent Cornucopia Days by attending the poetry reading at the
Centennial Center, 400 West Gowe Street.
