Friday, May 26th
Kent Cornucopia Days “Scholarship Pageant”:
Join us as we select this years 2007 Miss Cornucopia. Pageant will be at
the Meridian Elementary School. 7:00pm
Tuesday, July 4th
Kent Cornucopia Days “Dragon Boat Demo’s” at the
“Summer Splash: Join us for a wild time at the City of Kent’s Summer
Splash at Lake Meridian. The Kent Lions and the
Kent Dragon Boat Association will provide a Demo Dragon Boat Race during
this event. Lots of games,
food booths, & free entertainment. We are also proud sponsors of 4th of
July fireworks display over the lake. All day.
Wednesday, July 11th
Kent Downtown Merchants Sidewalk Sale: The Kent
Downtown Merchants expand to the sidewalks with incredible bargains for
everyone. All day.
Summer Art Exhibit and
Opening Gala (ticketed event):
Purchase awards totaling $5,000 will be awarded to juried exhibit entries.
Art chosen for purchase awards will become part of the
City of Kent Portable Art
Collection. Centennial Center, 400 W. Gowe Street, Gala features
hors d’ oeuvres, no-host bar, entertainment by Ranger and the Re-Arrangers
5:30 - 8:00 p.m., $10 at the door. Co-sponsored by Fire Creek Grill.
Thursday, July 12th
“Funtastic Shows” Carnival: Experience the
thrills of this full size carnival that has rides for all ages, from the
latest and fastest rides available today to smaller rides just for the small
kids. There is a full Midway and a dedicated Children’s rides area.
Look for opening day discount coupons at participating
merchants. Corner of W. Smith and Lincoln Ave. (former Metro Park &
Ride lot) 3:00pm until closing.
Kent
Youth Soccer Associations 8th Annual “Cornucopia Cup” Tournament:
Watch nearly 125 youth teams from throughout the Puget Sound area compete at
this event. Most matches will be held at Pea Patch Soccer Fields, Green
River Road & S 265th St., with many more at local Kent facilities
(Wilson Playfield closed for construction this year).

Friday, July 13th
Kent Lions “Street Fair” &
“Taste of Cornucopia”: An unbelievably
large variety of arts & crafts and food vendors, including commercial and
other displays with over 600 booths to choose from. Over 35 food booths
throughout the streets, and two large food courts next to the entertainment
stages in the Kent Library & Burlington Green Park. 10:00am to 9:00pm.
Funtastic Shows Carnival: Continues, 2:00pm until closing.
Muckleshoot Casino “Main
Stage”: Sit down and relax while being
entertained by our live performers. Produced by Kent Parks, Recreation and
Community Services and Kent Arts Commission with support from Valley Medical
Center, the main stage entertainment features local, national and
international artist performing on a new, larger stage throughout the
weekend. Kent Library parking lot on the corner of 2nd and Smith, (see the
attached stage schedule for event and times). 4:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Pacific Medical “Gazebo
Stage”: Another full stage of live
entertainment provided by the “Kent Lions Club” at the Gazebo enjoy Jazz
music at its best. Located next to the “Ram Restaurant” Beer Garden in
Burlington Green Park on Railroad Ave, (see the attached stage schedule for
event and times). 3:00pm to 9:00pm
Family Stage:
An integral part of the Children’s Area. Featuring exciting entertainment
including local and regional performers that will delight the entire
family. Located within the heart of the Children’s Area in front of the
fireplace at Kent Station on Ramsay Way. 12:00n to 5:00pm
Fine Crafts Market Area:
Produced by Kent Parks, Recreation and Community Services, the Market Place
is for crafts people and artists specializing in handcrafted items only.
The objective is to create a colorful, balanced and varied selection of high
quality handmade crafts and artwork at the festival. The Fine Crafts Market
Area is located at Kent Station. 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Square Dance:
Join in or just watch and enjoy our annual square dance, 4th Ave on Meeker
St., seating area provided. 8:00p until dark.
“Kent Valley Artists
Association Art Show” presents an art
show and sale at the Rose Park, on 1st and Meeker. 10:00am to 9:00pm.
Bingo: The Sumner Lions Club “Lions Bingo” at the Titus
Park on the corner of 1st & Titus. 10:00 am until closing.

vehicles from the Army National Guard and other military units. On Gowe

the Kent Police & Fire Dept Safety Fair, located on Railroad Ave
between Gowe and Meeker, for tips to keep your family safe, kids can
climb aboard a fire truck. 10:00am to 9:00pm.
Children’s Area: A fun
and interactive destination designed especially for kids and offering an
array of activities to keep the youngest festival-goers entertained and
educated. Hands-on arts and crafts projects and workshops give kids the
opportunity to work with and learn from professional artists.Located at Kent Station.10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

upcoming 25th anniversary of artist Herbert Bayer’s
Earthworks at Mill Creek Canyon Park, the Kent Arts Commission’s juried
fine art exhibit will showcase work that relates to earthwork,
environmental art, water sensitive management, outdoor festivals and
similar themes. The exhibit will be on display in the Arts Commission’s
Centennial Center Gallery (400 W. Gowe St.) throughout Cornucopia
weekend and for the remainder of July. Visitors are invited to cast
votes for the People’s Choice Award.

in Burlington Green Park, next to the food court and stage. This event will
benefit several non-profit groups. 12 noon to 9 pm.

Kent Cornucopia Days 5k Fun Run and Walk – The 3rd
annual race will take place on Saturday, July 14 and start at the old King
County Journal building located at 600 Washington Ave. S. Day of race
registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. The race features a fast down and back
along the Green River Trail. Both serious runners and casual walkers will
be able to enjoy this event by going for a best time or simply benefiting
from a morning walk. Registration is $10 or $20 with a short-sleeve
technical t-shirt. Registration available on active.com or printable form

Kent Cornucopia Days 7th Annual
“Dragon Boat Races”:Enjoy this beautiful event
on Kent’s own Lake Meridian. Nearly 50 Washington, Oregon, Canadian,
California, and local teams will race in eight giant 45-foot boots with a
crew of 24 people. Races begin at 8:30 am until 5:00 pm. The park will
have activities for the family including food booths, along with souvenir
and team booths. Shuttle from Kent Fire Station #75, Horizon Elementary
School, Kentwood HS, and the 132PndP
Park & Ride lot.

Jaguar Football Kent
Cornucopia Bowl II: Auburn Memorial
Stadium, 800 4th Street NE, Auburn 98002 –
the 2006/2005 Northwest Football League Champion, King County Jaguars will
host the West Sound Saints, Saturday July 14, 2007 at 7:00pm in a classic
battle of Northwest Minor League Football powers. For the second year the
Jaguars are proud to partner with Kent's Cornucopia Days celebration, hosted
by the Kent Lions Club.

Inline Skate & Skateboard
Tournaments: Our 8th Annual at the
"Lions Skate Park". Inline Registration at 9 am and the tournament at 10
am. Professional demonstration at 12 noon. Skateboard registration at 12
noon and tournament at 1 pm. Live entertainment and music by radio station
Funky Monkey. At the Lions Skate Park, on Smith Street, next to the old
Kent Park & Ride lot. 9:00 am until 6 pm.

Grand Parade:
Join with thousands of spectators who line the streets for Kent largest and
most prominent parade. Enjoy floats, marching bands, drill teams, and the
SEAFAIR Pirates. Bring the family early for this outstanding event, which
will be held along 4th Ave., starting at Saar St. and ending at James
Street. The reviewing stand is in front of the Kent Police Dept. This year’s
theme is “We will rock you” and will be broadcast live over the City of
Kent’s Channel 21. Parade starts at 2:00pm.
