Official "Kent Meeker Days" float entered into the April 1979 Daffodil Parade. This float won 2nd place in its division. The float is a tube steel frame covered with chicken wire, and placed over a electrical golf cart, which Miss Meeker stands on. The front section has extra wheels to hold that section up. All of the yellow flowers are fresh daffodils, with the green area some form of evergreen. The rainbow was spray painted on the yellow flowers. Info on construction comes from other photos that we have of volunteers building the float.
Official "Kent Meeker Days" float at the July 1979 Kent Meeker Days Parade. Note that the float has a different cover then the Daffodil float, as this one is not made out of flowers. Also note the clown that goes with the parade theme of "Celebration of Clowns". The name of Miss Meeker is not known at this time.
Photo if Miss Meeker 1979 and escort. Then names of both are unknown at this time.
